She tells the tale of a poor female policeman in the Indian Police Force who is sent to the Anti Narcotics Group in order to combat a big drug trafficker. Bhumika goes undercover as a prostitute in Mumbai as part of the assignment. Meanwhile, Bhumika is battling her drunken husband at home and working to finalise her divorce with him. Her mother is suffering an illness, and her sister is a college student, so she is the family’s lone breadwinner. The show portrays the concept that a woman’s body may be used to effectively dominate her environment. The crux of She, is a modest, lower middle-class Marathi girl pushed beyond of her comfort zone in the course of duty. The series stumbles as it attempts to negotiate a difficult terrain in which female dynamics are mixed with the traditions of a police and smugglers storey. She smoulders now and then, but it never crackles with vigour. Bhumi, the heroine, turns from a shy Plain Looking earner of a Parel chawl family to an aggressive female character who overcomes her inhibitions and goes undercover to apprehend an elusive drug trafficking kingpin.

Jason, Bhumi’s immediate employer, informs the police think tank that she isn’t femininally appealing and would therefore be under the authority of her superiors. Despite the fact that she has been a police officer for seven years, she still needs to prove herself to the guys who make the choices in the force. And how does she go about doing it? By use her beauty as a weapon in the fight against a cartel attempting to make Mumbai into Asia’s drug capital. That is the oversimplified and manufactured crux of the argument.

Pohankar gives an excellent performance, traversing a vast attitudinal arc without losing touch with the essence of a woman who is never completely at comfortable with the work she has been assigned by her masters. Some of the lighter portions in She are delivered by Vijay Varma, who plays an arrogant crook who steps into a trap. Regrettably, the inconsistent writing fails to produce statistics that are totally credible. Neither Bhumi’s transformation nor Sasya’s conversational nonchalance can shake the series out of its stupor.
