Sutliyan Web Series Storyline
The family drama Sutliyan is set in Bhopal, a city known for its lakes and gardens. The Chandel family reunites for Diwali after a lengthy apart, but this year is different from previous ones. To their mother Supriya’s dismay, Rajan, Ramni, and Raman were unable to attend their father’s burial when he passed away at the start of the first lockdowns. When a family comes together, there is often joy and nostalgia as well as a good amount of conflict and stress. The Sutliyan threads that connect us all together hold the family together, but we also see an unspooling and unraveling.
Sutliyan Web Series Release and OTT Response
Sutliyan premiered on ZEE5 on March 4, 2022. Sutliyan’s idea is not very novel. It is a calming, heartwarming family tale without any unexpected developments. The performers are acting out roles that we have essentially seen them do previously in a familiar setting. However, the comfort seems like a refreshing change amid a sea of grim thrillers, action-packed gangster and police dramas.

Sutliyan Web Series Review
Conflicts in Sutliyan are significantly more subdued. They move like an undercurrent rather than breaking like a wave. Sudeep Nigam and Abhishek Chatterjee, two writers, made excellent decisions in that respect. The narrative makes an effort to lessen its reliance on disputes and instead emphasizes the importance of family ties and the somewhat hesitant affection that exists among family members. Each character has certain problems that are established for them; nothing out of the norm. Instead than using narrative twists to resolve the tensions, it aims to create moments. At the climax, it does, but that is okay because it reaches for one.
The acting prowess of the talented cast of the series is its greatest asset. The cast is ably led by Ayesha Raza, who portrays Supriya, the family’s matriarch. She often plays roles of big-city elegance. As the oldest brother, Shiv Panditt personifies the struggles of a middle-class guy. Middle kid Ramni, played by Plabita, is endearing, and Raman, played by Vivaan Shah, who is still adjusting to life, is extremely endearing. Despite all of its shortcomings, “Sutliyan” is a really entertaining web series, particularly if you are aware with the subtleties of Indian families.
