Young Armaan, who resides in Pakistan with his extended family, is a gorgeous man. His longtime sweetheart, Aiman, who now resides in the US, was his greatest friend since boyhood. Aiman and Armaan have the same birthdate, and ever since she left when she was twelve, he has been gathering things to give her. He resides with his parents, his aunt Rabia (his uncle’s widow), his sister Faryal, and his grandmother. Saadi is another close buddy of Armaan, whose parents Raza and Talat he regards to be his own “Baba” and “Mama,” and who he adores like a brother. When Aiman eventually arrives from the US, her parents pass away shortly after. This causes the marriage of Armaan’s sister Faryal to fail as a result of superstitions, which infuriates his mother.

It brought back the glory days of PTV, the old-fashioned romances when the lovers would act out a screenplay that was so compelling that you would believe what was happening on the screen. Asma Nabeel deserves praise for writing such a subtly message-filled novel without overburdening the reader with it.
