Candyman Movie Storyline

Anthony and his friend move into an apartment in Cabrini, which is now redeveloped. Anthony unwittingly unlocks a door to a complicated history that unwinds his own psyche and releases a horrifying wave of violence when a fortuitous meeting with an old-timer reveals the actual tale of Candyman.

A small kid enters a lavatory, where a one-handed claw killer appears from the hole shortly afterwards, offering sweets. The kid shrieks in fright and is obviously startled, yet he is not connected or touched. He takes the snacks and retires up the stairway, free to leave. But it’s too late; the local cops raid the premises, don’t ask any questions while snatching the youngster they believe is in danger, and, well, you probably already understand what comes next depending on how things are going. Despite his resemblance to Daniel Robitaille, the individual is believed to be inserting razor blades inside the wrappers by law police. The murders with razor blades continue, hinting that an innocent guy was mercilessly slain by the police.

Candyman Movie Review

During the killings, this “Candyman” never seems like a conventional slasher picture because DaCosta sets them with a spewing orchestral fear that echoes the overly verbose depravity of De Palma’s playmaker. It’s as if four teenage prepsters are playing out what they believe is their entitlement as they shout “Candyman” five times in front of the school restroom mirror; their losses happen at us in a manner that’s just indirect enough to make you imagine the worse. DaCosta also photographs a terrible due punishment for a know-it-all art critic from an artful distance, heightening the horror.
