The city of Mumbai is stunned by an assassination attempt on Mumbai political veteran Ameya Rao Gaikwad. As his family copes with the shock, his son Ashish takes center stage, while ‘Encounter’ Wasim becomes informally involved in the investigation. Wasim obtains a lead on one of the shooters despite his personal life being in shambles. Meanwhile, as Ashish spirals out of control, Jiten urges Poornima to take over. Poornima attempts to encourage Ashish to consult her before making any decisions, but he rejects her. Wasim, on the other hand, continues the pursuit in his own distinctive manner. Overall, it’s a superb ensemble cast lead by Priya Bapat and Atul Kulkarni. They understand what has to be done and follow through. In terms of performance, COD 2 has little to brag about. Priya is a joy to see as she portrays a calm and sensitive character. Atul Kulkarni is frightening and succeeds at making you despise Saheb. Wasim is well-played by Eijaz, who captures the character’s inner tension well.
Where the program falls short is in tying all of the stories together. The primary narrative is thrown off track as the author tries to establish numerous aspects of the tale. Some things are needlessly added, while others are expected. As one might anticipate from a political thriller, there are several plot twists. The program keeps you fascinated, but 10 episodes isn’t long enough to cover all of the subplots, so there are a lot of random ends.
