Drive My Car Movie Storyline

Ysuke Kafuku is a theatrical actor who is engaged to Oto Kafuku, a screenwriter who enjoys writing tales while making love. They just lost their four-year-old daughter to illness, and Ysuke also sees Oto having affairs with a young guy. When Ysuke returns home one day, he discovers Oto lying on the floor, dead from a brain aneurysm. At Oto’s funeral, Ysuke sees Oto’s lover. Kafuku accepts a two-month residence with a theatrical programme in Hiroshima two years later, when he would direct a multilingual version of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya. Because a previous performer was engaged in an automobile accident, the theatre organisation needs him to be followed by a driver, Misaki Watari, 23. He first resists, protective of his bright-red automobile, but when a test drive proves Watari is a capable driver, he relents. Despite his youth, Kafuku auditions a large number of players for the play in a number of languages and puts Oto’s boyfriend, an actress called Kji Takatsuki, in the main part.

Drive My Car Movie Review

Drive My Car is a tale of betrayal. It isn’t conveyed in flashes of excruciating suffering. Rather, Hamaguchi puts his faith in the viewer to absorb the film’s deliberate, meticulous pace over nearly three hours. The sensation is well worth it, pouring over you like it wipes away Misaki and Kafuku’s grim demeanour

While the speed, tone, and allegorical aspect of the movie drive my car is not for everybody, We loved because for the most part. It might have needed a little trimming now and then to shorten it up, but the more I think about it, the more Hamaguchi’s choices make sense. In terms of bringing these wandering spirits together, he requires the long Preface. He’d be trapped with a repeated memory structure if he didn’t have it, which would just make the movie seem longer. Furthermore, the portrayals would lack the same amount of nuance and feeling. To put it another way, watching a film that lasts  hours is a serious undertaking. It is, however, a promise you will not soon forget.
