Fatherhood Movie Storyline
Liz Logelin, Matthew’s wife, dies of a pulmonary embolism shortly after giving birth to their daughter, Maddy, through an emergency caesarean section. Matt’s closest friends Jordan and Oscar, his mother Anna, and Liz’s parents Marion and Mike all attempt to console him during the funeral, but to no effect. Marion tries to persuade Matt to return to Minnesota so Maddy may be closer to her grandparents, but he insists on sticking in Boston, where he has a nice position at a software firm. Matt also has a forgiving boss who recognises his struggle to raise his daughter on his own.
Taking care of Maddy for the first several months is difficult, particularly after both Matt and Liz’s parents have returned home, but Matt struggles to raise her on his own. He has to bring Maddy to work on occasion, which causes some friction with his employer, Howard, but this, too, is quickly resolved.

Fatherhood was supposed to hit cinemas on April 3, 2020, however it was pushed back to January 8, 2021 on January 6, 2020. Later that year, it was rescheduled for January 15, 2021, a week later. Due to the epidemic, it was pushed back to October 23, 2020 on March 30, 2020. It was postponed until April 2, 2021 on April 24, 2020, and then again on November 19, 2020, to April 16, 2021.

The narrative spans many years, starting with Maddy as a baby and going through her youth. Matt faces many of the challenges that single parents experience, such as meeting new people and fostering individuality, even if it means allowing Maddy to make her own choices.
The show’s dark moments are countered by just the right amount of comedy. There is no comedy or jokes, yet there are enough light parts to keep the picture interesting. Because Kevin Hart is primarily a comic, the filmmakers should be commended for resisting the impulse to go full out.
