The evocative Murder in the Hills is completely watchable. It moves slowly at first before picking up speed. There are nevertheless times when it seems like it is going on forever. Some moments are overly drawn out or unneeded. You will probably skim through these sections because they seem to contribute nothing to the story and take up much too much time.

The performance is excellent throughout. Particularly outstanding are Arjun Chakrabarty, Sandipta Sen, and Anindita Bose. However, the others are as strong in their characteristics. Their performances are convincing and pertinent to the current circumstance. But the actor who portrays the young Tony is at best silly, and his thick voice clashes with the man who plays him.

The plot, the acting, and the production quality of Murder in the Hills were all top-notch. But because of its glacial pace, it badly lags. Each episode starts and ends with a flurry of excitement and interest, but the middle is incredibly dull. There are certain sections that are completely unnecessary or overly lengthy. If the series had had five or six episodes, it may have really taken off.
