The Sparks Brothers Movie Review
During their individual appearances in The Sparks Brothers, Sparks stays cutting-edge and convincingly, pitch-perfectly grabs hearts. A decent music documentary should make you feel moderately fascinated. With any hope, Wright’s work will finally bring Sparks to the notice of the American public. The objective is not to talk down, but to simply and cheerfully say welcome aboard, as one of the talking heads in the video says to people who arrive late to the party.
But, no matter how comprehensive this film seems to be, it will never be able to encompass all that is Sparks. It doesn’t completely dismantle veneers; especially Wright’s most intimate pieces emote through an outer covering of physical humour and allusions, but you get a feel of the Maels as employees, brothers, artists, and beings on their own terms. There’s no doubting that the almost 2 hours picture is epic. After all this, you won’t need yet another Sparks flick. Yet it’s more of an invitation than a definitive biography. It’s the feature-length version luring new and lengthy viewers alike with its comprehensive grasp and passion for its topics.
