Kaafir Web Series Storyline

The India-Pakistan conflict is one of the stories that makes its way into the televisions here. That seems logical, given the two nations’ tumultuous history. However, tales that link the two countries in any way are typically weaved in an unsatisfactory manner. Kaafir, fortunately, does not fall under this group.

Based on the actual tale of Shainaz, Kaafir recounts the journey of an innocent Pakistani girl who faces an unjust seven-year prison sentence when Border Security Forces incorrectly label her a terrorist, and how she manages to get free and seek legal admission into Pakistan.

The story of Kaafir is not only beautiful, but also topical, since it is set in the heartbreaking Indo-Pak socio-political situation. The series is directed by Sonam Nair and is based on Bhavani Iyer’s script and premise.

When the motley crowd sees her with Kainaaz, they lose control and attempt to burn the home down.

The women emerge from the hubbub in disbelief. They strive to prevent their spouses from doing such a heinous crime. Suri’s wife also joins the demonstration.

The online series, directed by Sonam Nair, is accompanied by a strong script written by Bhavini Iyer. Vedant, played by Mohit Raina, is a lawyer-turned-journalist who comes across video of a little girl named Sehar one day. When Vedant’s supervisor asks him to make a ‘human-interest’ piece with an emotional component, he decides to follow the youngster and learn more about her tale. He subsequently learns that Sehar’s mother, Kainaaz, has been imprisoned for the last seven years on suspicion of being a Pakistani terrorist. However, as Vedant discovers later via a series of conversations with Dia Mirza’s Kainaaz, nothing is as it appears.
